Category 3 Hurricane Maria approaches Turks & Caicos. With winds of 120 mph, Maria is moving northwest at 9 mph and is 135 miles southeast of Grand Turk. The following watches and warnings are in effect:

Hawaii Hotel Tax Increase
On September 5, 2017, the State of Hawaii amended the Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) increasing the rate 1% effective January 1, 2018. This will take effect on all islands for lodging accommodations regardless of arrival date or when the hotel reservations are made.
All Hawaii hotel bookings for travel on and after January 1, 2018 are subject to the new tax rate unless full payment was made at time of booking.
Caribbean & Florida Travel

Following is the latest status for Pleasant Holidays’ Caribbean & Florida portfolio destinations based on preliminary reports on impact for travel from recent hurricane activity, including Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Irma. Please note that this status may change. We will update this page as more information becomes available. Please check back regularly for the latest developments.
We are pleased to report that most destinations in the Caribbean sustained no major damage and continue to welcome guests. These include:
- Dominican Republic
- Grand Cayman
- Saint Lucia
- St. Kitts & Nevis
- St. Vincent & The Grenadines
Destinations that may be affected by Hurricane Maria on her path through the region include:
- Bahamas (currently not in path)
- Bermuda (currently not in path)
- Turks & Caicos
Islands that received major damage to their infrastructure and are expected to be closed for an extended period of time include:
- British Virgin Islands
- Puerto Rico
- St. Barts
- St. Martin/Sint Maarten
- U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix)
We are pleased to report that 99% of the destinations in our Florida portfolio are currently welcoming guests. These include:
- Cape Coral
- Daytona Beach
- Fort Lauderdale
- Fort Myers
- Marco Island
- Miami/South Beach
- Palm Beach
- Panama City
- Sanibel Island
- St. Augustine
- St. Petersburg
- West Palm Beach
The Florida Keys are expected to reopen for tourism beginning mid-October.
Hurricane Alert for Caribbean & Key West
Pleasant Holidays is addressing the concerns of travelers with reservations for upcoming travel to destinations in the Caribbean that lie in the anticipated path of or have already been impacted by Hurricane Maria.
Please be assured that our Customer Service team members are working diligently to assist each impacted customer on an individual basis, reaching out to each based on addressing the most imminently scheduled departures first.
Our Change/Cancel Policies in effect for this period are as follows:
- Pleasant Holidays will waive its change and cancellation fees plus any fees waived by hotel, airline and/or cruise partners
- Pleasant Holidays will make every effort to move travelers to another destination
- Normal travel protection policies apply if a plan was purchased through Pleasant Holidays
- Any current confirmed booking to the Caribbean or Florida impacted by Hurricane Maria will be offered a $250 discount per booking to move travel to Hawaii on an air-inclusive package or NCL Hawaii Cruise. This offer is valid for travel through December 20, 2017. Discount is applied when the booking is changed to Hawaii.
These policies will apply to all bookings to the affected regions until further notice.
