This hotel is surrounded by a unique beauty, and is centrally located in the city center of Salzburg, also known as the "City of Mozart".
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg on January 27, 1756. The city’s most famous composer can still be felt in Salzburg’s historical district at Mozart Square, the Mozart Residence and Mozartsteg Bridge. Although he has been long known as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his official name is actually Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Theophilus Mozart.
The real Maria von Trapp, whose story serves as the basis for the Sound of Music, did actually enter Salzburg’s Benedictine Abbey of Nonnberg as a novice. She was sent to the von Trapp family in 1926 as a tutor for one of the children, also named Maria, who was recovering from scarlet fever. She married their father, Georg; and in 1936, their family won first place in the Salzburg Music Festival, just like the movie. The brave family also eventually escaped to another country.
